Hello Eöl, this year you’ve released your fourth offering to the underground entitled “Unblessed Woods”, what brings new this release in the world of Elffor?
Hell, here Eöl from the darkness...
Unblessed Woods is surely the darkest and more complex effort in my whole discography!!! I´ve done a CD where quitars, drums and vocals have been used more than I used to do in my previous Cds, but there´s still classic ambient/medieval ELFFOR stuff, and some fast track aswell. All in all, I´m really happy with the final result.
What brought you to such music and what dark force inspires you to create such magnificent soundscapes?
The damn hell that´s inside my head!!!
Please describe the world of Elffor, who is Eol in this world, what are the happenings there, the myths, wars etc.
Eöl is an ordinary guy that doesn´t give a fuck about all the shit that is surrounding our world, there´s no problem when dont care about anything
Besides you are there another member(s) in Elffor or Elffor is a project of yours?
ELFFOR is my side project, just my own thing, I take care of the whole composition and aranging except playing guitars. I usually find that help on a couple of members from my official bands, SUFFERING DOWN and NUMEN.
Searching information about Elffor I also found the information that you play in a band Suffering Down, since that band is unknown to me can you please describe this band too, maybe between the readers there’ll be some interested in that too
I joined S.D back in 1996. The band started as 666 ASTAROTH in 1995. They played old school death metal at the time. The band name changed and so did the music, more oriented to a fast Death/Black Metal outfit in the vein of old SEPTIC FLESH, BORKNAGAR... The band has released 3 albums:
Suffering Down” MCD, “Misanthropic & Nihilist Drama” DIGI-CD , “Masive Genocide, Collective Suicide...Hurting Katahrsys” CD. We´ll start recording a news album late this year.
Which projects/bands influenced you when you’ve started to play music can you name some, also can you name some favorite albums/demos?
I don´t have any band in mind while composing. Is quite difficult being original when it comes to composition, because there´s always a reference or there´s always a band to be compared with. Anyway, I´m sure that with ELFFOR I´ve found my own thing, and I honestly think that I´ve obtained and created a very personal and unique kind of music.
I see that in Spain lately there are a lot of Pagan/Heaten bands, do you consider yourself a pagan, which are you religious views, or you share none?
The only God I trust and believe is the one between my legs, he never fails!!!!
Can you recommend some bands/labels/distros/magazines/ from the Spanish underground in possible from both black metal and dark ambient scenes.
There´s quite a big scene in Spain, there´s lot of bands, zines distros, and people who support the whole thing:
There´s good bands as: CEREBRAL EFUSIÓN, DANTALION,KATHAARSYS, EMPTY,DARKNESS BY OATH, ODD HEATHENISH, XERION, OMENDARK...and some more that could be mentioned. Zines like BLOODY, BLEAK ZINE,ORFISMO, etc ...and distros/labels as ONIRIC RECORDS, BLOODY DISTRIBUTION, GROTESQUE PRODUCTION, NECROMANCE RECORDS. All of them are the ones who trully support this fucking scene, because lately there´s less people attending gigs and buying CDs. Anyway, we are not that much, but we´re strong!!
How was the response to your music until now?
Can´t be better!!!! The album is being sold quite good, and even faster than the previous albums. Is the fourth ELFFOR album by now, and lot of people know about the project, so that´s great to say the least.
There´s a lot of distros/labels in Germany, the States and France for example that support my music. They´re really intereseted on distributing/promoting my stuff over there. Lots of people dontact me aswell because they´re interested on buying my CDs. All my gratitude goes out to them for their support!!
What keeps you alive in this world?
Dark music, women and hash are the only things that are worthy in this life. The rest is fucken crap!!!!
